elsie's coming to town!

we are sooo excited that elsie flannigan is coming to treasury of memories! and from the non-stop phone ringing yesterday, i guess everyone else is excited too! classes are filling quickly! 

elsie is teaching four classes while in b'ham, here's the schedule:

friday, march 17th:

• 6-9pm "family faces" mini book, $40

saturday, march 18th:

• 10am-12pm   "ME" scrapbook pages and card, $30
• 1-4pm           "hometown" mini book, $40
• 4:30-6:30pm "buttonlove" scrapbook pages and card, $30

*PLUS we're having a crop that night at treasury with elsie from 7pm-12am. $20 includes super fun goody bag.*

new today...

new books at the store today...Supply Savvy by Erin Lincoln and Creative Solutions for Scrapbooking. Both look really good, (I didn't actually read them today but the pictures were amazing!) We also got some more oldies but really goodies, Our Family Scrapbooks, 30 Minute Pages and Heidi Swapp's Love Your Handwriting.

new stuff at the store today!

remember how i told you we were stocking up on basics at the store? well we are but we still got some fun stuff today...along with more Basic Grey notch tools, rub-ons, lunchpail album kits and chipboard monograms, we got the chipboard tags and hardware. so cute! we also got some fun new stamps from Technique Tuesday including more of the stitches and Calamity Jane font (that Miss Tammy T used on her brand layout), and the new Avalon font and the Infinite Wisdom stamps. We also got the new CK, the TOP 10 issue. I love magazines! Tonight I came home with the new CK, Cosmo, People and a bag of M&Ms...heaven! have a good night! carly

ramblings from carly...

so do you ever have those nights where you don't feel like sleeping? well i'm having one of those so you are all getting treated to some of my late-night, don't-feel-like-sleeping ramblings. before i start, let me just warn you that i'm not working up to a point or something profound, i'm just chatting.

elke and i watched empire records tonight. it's one of her favorites and i had never seen it. now i know where about 40% of the stuff she says comes from. if you want to know elke better, watch her favorite movies and memorize them...seriously. the movie was funny and all the employees at the record store reminded me of treasury. they all love their jobs and hang out there even when they're not working. we are the same way. for example, on new year's day almost all the tom girls were working but in 2 shifts. elke was afternoon shift but she called in the morning to see if anyone needed coffee, when i said no she asked if she could come to work anyway. it was so cute! i love that we are a family at treasury, the tom girls and our customers. i just love you guys!

wanna hear some store stuff? well we just got a few new things from Around the Block, like boy papers and embellishments with a spaceship-alien-dinosaur-mud theme. very cute. also they have new medical paper and embellishments. very cute but i'm too squeamish to scrapbook anything that involves doctors or bandages. did i tell you i fainted in emergency response class? yeah, and i keep my eyes closed 98.5% of the time at the doctor's. anyways...we got the new joy of cardmaking book, so good. and we also got a ton of Making Memories rub-ons. we're stocking up on basics before CHA at the end of the month. personally i am too...gotta get lots of adhesive before all the new stuff starts coming otherwise i get home with tons of new patterned paper and nothing to glue it together! so many nights at 2am cursing my empty tab dispenser and lack of glue dots...

alright, i've bored you enough. off to watch infomercials, the magic bullet one is a tom girl fave.

some of our latest projects and pages at toms!

so we kind of dig (shall we say LOVE) all the new goodies that arrive every day!  check out some of our most recent projects and pages that we've been creating...and better yet, come and see us at the store!

so this first one is a super fun (and easy) project to create! take a heart shaped paper mache box and cover it with a patterned paper (paint other sides). for this mini book, we chose a making memories kraft cover and inside pages. then, we added patterned paper, pictures and embellishments. all we need is a few pieces of chocolate and we have the perfect valentine's present!

for real, miss sara, could this page be any cuter?  love this one! sara used the elsie alphabet stamps by fontwerks and the flower ones too!  she also cleverly grabbed some prima flowers and stamped on them for extra fun.

alisen created this awesome page with some of our new goodies from MAMBI. we have three awesome displays right now all focused on various style trends...so inspiring, you have to come and see! i love how alisen cut out the flowers to use as colorful embellishments!

Ok everybody, here it is, the first challenge! I'm so excited and I hope you guys think it's fun too! My baby sister graduated from Western a few weeks ago and Elke and I were able to attend her graduation. In between waving at my sister Katie and a serious case of the "church" giggles, the speaker’s words about marketing and branding caught my attention. Branding is an important business strategy that doesn’t just apply to a company but also to the individual. Think of a brand as your face to the world...name, logo, beliefs, mission. Who are you? What do you believe? What is your reason for being? Does the world see the real you? Do you want to change the perception of your “brand”? I challenge you to create a logo or a mission statement or anything you want about your "brand".

Here’s the layout with my logo, (well it started as a logo and just became a design that really made me happy!) and a quote that really captures what I want for my life. The quote is from She by Kobi Yamada, a book that inspires me completely. (You'll being seeing it around the store soon along with some other really amazing and inspiring books!) I used new Urban Bling paper from our "Downtown Glam" collection, lots of glitter and rhinestones. I hand cut the flower from an old pair of jeans and glittered it within an inch of it's life. This layout was pretty fun and easy but took forever because I had to wait for so much glitter to dry!
