happy new's year's eve!

hi everybody,

sorry we've been gone for a bit, we took a little (unintentional) holiday break from our blog. i hope you all had an amazing holiday. i was blessed with a fabulous christmas with my family and shaun. it was our first christmas together and it was really special. i can't wait to scrapbook it!

so it's the last day of 2006 and i have a little challenge for you...journal a quick summary of your year. what big things happened? what will you remember most? what are you most thankful for? and maybe add some stuff in there about your hopes for 2007. i'm sure my answers are no big surprise, 2006 was the year i met shaun and 2007 is the year we're getting married.

that classes start again this coming week. On tues. we have tuesday cards at 1:00, 2:30, and 7:00. Make 3 cards for just $5.00 and the best part- no need to sign up, just bring your glue and scissors. Then we have our weekly mini book class. Tues. at 10:00 a.m. and Thurs. at 6:30 p.m. This weeks class is a gret opportunity to reflect back on the past year. create a mini book that includes 20 questions all about the past year...like "what was your greatest accomplishment." or you could even take a different spin on it- fill it up with questions like "what was your favorite high school memory" and then have your mom or grandfatehr fill it out. You will then have a great keepsake all about them. The class is only $15.00 and includes everything you need (you only need to bring your basic class kit). call and sign up!

sweet handmade cards...

i know how you all can make some pretty sweet handmade cards...and i hope you'll join with us in sharing some handmade joy this holiday season!

okay, so here's the deal...this next thursday, december 21st...kgmi radio station is sponsoring an evening of caroling to local nursing homes. we have the honor of serving as the "meeting spot" and we'll be serving cookies and hot chocolate...AND we'd love to have a bounty of handmade holiday cards for the carolers to share with the ladies and gentlemen in the nursing homes. would you consider sharing a few of your cards with us? we're hoping to get a couple hundred cards. if you think you'll be able to share some, would you please leave a comment here on the blog or email me at elizabeth@treasuryofmemories.com so we can keep a little tally going.  then simply drop your cards off to the store by next wednesday, december 20th. thank you so very much! :)

gifts galore

With christmas just a couple weeks away I am sure everyone is very busy getting gifts ready...I know I am. I am trying to get them all done for when I go home this weekend so I don't have to mail them and I wanted to share some with you. First is a super cute keychain album new from doodlebug. It is ready for you to put 2 pictures in it or you can make some pages to insert into it. I cut a piece of cardstock to approx: 2 1/2" x 1 3/8" and then fold in half. Then I cut 3 pieces of cardstock to approx: 2 3/4" x 1 5/8". Then layer the pieces on each other and staple along the crease. (see photo) then decorate and insert into the album. I made one for myself and then got one for my niece who loves to scrapbook and just got her license...it's perfect. Next I wanted to show you the star I made. I think carly linked the idea from 2 peas a few days ago. Well I saw it and had to make one for my sister. It was a little intimidating at first, but was actually really easy and I love the way it turned out. Last, but not least, an altered clock. We just got these clocks in and I thought it would perfect for my in-laws. I just inserted the picts. and added some rub-ons. so fast and easy!

so how much do you love snowglobes?! i love them, i used to collect them in high school. (isn't that funny?) and i was so happy when elizabeth told me that she found some that you can put your own pictures in. here it is...

i'm making one for shaun's stocking, (don't worry, i checked and it will fit). i'm going to use our christmas picture with a little bit of ribbon and maybe a rub-on or two...i'll post mine tonight so check back.

and if you love snowglobes, there's also photo clocks and coffee mugs from the same company. so cute!

holiday ideas

hi everybody!

sorry that i haven't been posting, i was a little bit distracted by christmas stuff. shaun and i went and picked out wrapping paper and all other gift wrapping supplies. he's such a great guy, he actually pretends to care which wrapping papers we get and what color ribbons. actually he's full of christmas spirit. he is working on the most amazing gingerbread house, from scratch! when he's done, i'll post a pic.

so today's idea comes from miss alissa and 7 gypsies. they have the cutest little naked charm bracelets and necklaces. well actually they don't really look that cute in the package but once you put them together, super cute! alissa made a little charm bracelet with chatterbox papers and she's been letting us take turns wearing it at the store. sorry that i took a terrible picture of it but at least you can get the idea. and check out this other idea for the charms from kelli crowe on 2peas, necklace. i got all 3 shapes of charms because i think i'm going to make the sweet necklaces for my bridesmaids and i couldn't decide what shape. i just love them and wouldn't it be so sweet if all the girls at my wedding had personalized, matching necklaces?! i'm thinking our moms too!

ok, we're making ginger cookies, (because i've been begging for a week,) so gotta go!
