Am I the only person who thinks vinyl is sexy?

I'm not joking. I love a well-placed vinyl. It makes a statement. And I think this month's vinyl of the month can say a lot, so I'm going to let the pictures do the talking.

Did I mention how lucky I am to be surrounded by a ton of talented, amazing people. Our friend (and fellow vinyl fanatic) Katy took these gorgey pictures.

This month's vinyl of the month measures approximately 21x20. It comes with some extra "chain" which you can piece together to get the look appropriate for your home.

It's been a long time coming...

And hopefully the suspense has been building!

I love give aways, don't you? But I never win, which always makes me sad. And I mean, I have NEVER won. anything. ever.

Hello my lovely friends,

I hope you are all enjoying a fantastic start to your weekend! I am at my best friend's house. She is helping me do my laundry, we are drinking mimosa, just made peanut butter and bacon cookies and are halfway through making pillow cookies, and are going on an afternoon cruise on Lake Washington. So, I'd say that I'm off to a good start!

I wanted to talk to you about weddings today. Vinyl and weddings go together like peanut butter and jelly, like a bride and a groom. Its true crafty love.

Vinyl & Wedding favors

How cute are these pretty glasses? I believe they were set on the table during a rehearsal dinner. Also, do you remember when we did this fun growler at father's day? Wouldn't it be an awesome idea for a gift for your groomsman?

I've also seen vinyl as a super cute way to package a Bachelorette present. Our super fabulous Elke once used a clear quart pail to package a bachelorette present. She embellished the handle with ribbons and custom ordered a vinyl to fit on the outside, which read "Sexy Little Things".

Vinyl & the Newly Weds

I think there is something so special about this gift for a newly married couple. It is so special for them to see their names together for the first time "officially". I just picked up this floating frame $8 at Wally World, and did a custom vinyl to fit it. The great thing about floating frames is that they can very easily match any decor. I bought this frame in brown and I know it matches their decor, but it would have been SO easy to take out the glass and spray-paint it black.

Thanks to my fabulous customer Jackie, who inspired me with the wording for this vinyl! :)

Sizzling Summer Special Day 7

For the last day of our sizzling summer, we're offering a fun project that will set you up for a sizzlin' back to school season....

I love back to school time. I mean, I LOVE it. I have enough pencils and notebooks to last me the rest of my life, but you can bet your bottom dollar (whatever that means) that that doesn't stop me from wandering the Back to School section at Target, and maybe coming home with pencil toppers.

My theory on the whole Back to School shopping thing is that it takes the edge off returning to school. I remember the mixed feelings of dread/anticipation for the return of the school year. On one hand, I would be dreading lectures and homework, on the other hand, I really wanted to show off my new shoes  and trapper keepers to my BFFs.

This is why I love our new, updated version of this DIY epoxy binder clips/magnet kit.

They are VERY Back-to-School Chic.

You get the materials to make 4 fancy epoxy binder clips and 4 epoxy paper clip magnets... including SIIX fun Back to School vinyl phrases, including "Super Star" and "Look what I did!" You'll just need to add your favorite papers and photos as backgrounds.

What's not to love here? The epoxy stickers give this a really professional & finished look, but its still super easy to put together. Putting this project together would be a great way to spend one of these last hazy summer afternoons with your kiddos.

You can use scrap-booking papers, photos, or even you or your kiddo's favorite Sunday funnies as the background for the magnets.

Step 1 Place you epoxy sticker over the part of the paper or photo you want to use. Step 2 Trim carefully around the epoxy sticker (or, if you have the right sized punch--punch it!) Step 3 Use a dollop of QuickGrip or another strong adhesive to adhere it to the binder or magnet clip form.

Fresh Tuesday

Hey pretties, wondering what ELSE you can make with your sizzling vinyl?

Try out this little ditty:

To create your very own, find a 12x12 frame (we no longer carry them!), a couple patterned papers and trim to 4x4 squares. Now find some super cute photos that are sure to make you smile everyday! Trim them to 4x4. In the middle, you'll want a piece of white cardstock app. 4x4 and a slightly bigger piece of black cardstock to "mat" the white piece. Assemble all the pieces and insert into the frame. Finally, apply the vinyl on the glass.
