Frantic Friday (Saturday Edition)

Yesterday morning, I was rushing off to work and, without noticing it, I knocked my water bottle off my bedside table and onto my laptop. I realized what happened 9 HOURS LATER when I tried to turn my laptop on and it was a no-go and then I realized my laptop was all wet.

Doh! I feel like a big idiot. So, here's hoping it wasn't a fatal accident. 

I will return next week with my blog post for you guys!

Photo Evidence

In case there was any doubt in your mind about how cool the glasses I made for Kirren's toast are.... I brought photo evidence... you can see the "C" monogram from here!

And yes, I am tooting my own horn a little bit! But mostly I am just excited about how adorable Kirren & Cody are! :)

I used my clip kit & the graphic from Kirren's bachelorette party invites to create these adorable little magnets! I just resized the graphic to fit the clip and voilà!

Fresh Romance Friday

I may have already mentioned (like 100 times) that  I am the maid of honor in my friend Kirren's wedding. I'm super excited. The wedding is in less than 24 hours!!!! I'm super excited and nervous and just praying that I won't trip! Wish me luck!

Nerves aside, I am very excited to see one of my best friends marry the man she loves and start their lives together!

Of course, being me, I totally took it upon myself to use some vinyl as part of my Maid of Honor duties.

It was a little bit difficult for me to think of how to use vinyl as part of the wedding.... I ended up doing a lot of glass etching. I glass etched shotglasses as favors for the bachelorette party, each glass included the date of the party on it. 12 awesome favors and they cost me less then $15. For the groomsmen's gifts we etched beer glasses with each macho man's name on it. 

And this is my favorite.... for their wedding toast, I glass etched Mr. & Mrs. Covey onto a couple of champagne glasses. They made an awesome bridal shower gift!

Have you tried glass etching before? It is pretty darn easy! All you need is a vinyl stencil. You can either order this from moi or create it yourself using your silhouette or cricut (just remember to weed it in reverse!). Next comes the hard part... apply the vinyl to your clean glass. You need to be very careful that there are no wrinkles on the edges of your stencil.* Follow the directions on your etching cream to finish!

*If you have a wrinkle at the edge, the etching solution will seep under the stencil and etch outside of your design! Which is bad! Take it from me, if you apply your vinyl and get wrinkles in it, spend the extra time & money to make a new stencil!

This Wednesday's Pick Up Hours Have Changed

Hello Pretty Crafters,

I have to admit something to you... and, I know that since we're friends, you'll keep this secret (and you won't tell any men who are interested in dating me).

I'm a little bit high maintenance. 

I am taking the tail end of this week off to go and be a full-time maid-of-honor for my friend Kirren's wedding.

To accommodate this, we're going to have to change our pick-up hours a little bit this week! Instead of the regular 2-6, we will be here from 12-4PM this Wednesday, September 14th.

Fresh Sunday

I forgot about Fresh Friday!

.....again!

In my defense, I was real busy. I hosted a bachelorette party for one of my friends on Thursday night. We went to a Dueling Piano Bar in Seattle. It was awesome. I highly recommend it.

And then, Friday.... I might have been recovering from the Bachelorette party?

In other Creative news, I do have a really fantastic vinyl-related item to share with you this coming Friday. I had to wait to share it because it was my bride-friend Kirren's gift, and I wanted to surprise her with it first!

I know a lot of us creative-types don't just dabble in one area. You know what I mean? Scrapbookers don't just scrap. Bakers don't just bake. There's a lot of cross-over. 

That said, I totally want to share this blog with you, if you aren't a follower already. Her name is Bakerella and she makes cake pops. Which are, essentiallly, mini cakes on a stick I totally want to make cake pops for every occasion! I love scrolling through her blog and getting inspired!

The class is being held at the Treasury Warehouse (1305 Fraser Street, Unit D7, Bellingham) on Thursday, September 30th, 6:30-9pm...the class is just $30 and includes the three 6x12 canvas pieces, the paper and the beautiful vinyl too! (Please bring your paper trimmer.)

Where have we been?

We've been a little absent from our blog...sorry! :) Our "other part" of the business is focused on wholesale vinyl (we sell vinyl to craft stores around the country so they can share it with you)....and it's been growing rapidly! Sooo much fun, but it's kept us so busy that our blog and kits have been neglected!

But I think we can make it up to you with an extra special holiday event this Fall. As we're making plans...we'd like to get your input! What types of crafty projects are you thinking about for the holidays this year? Any canvas ideas you'd like to see? How about any particular papercrafting kits...mini books, card kits?

We'd love to hear from you! Look for more details coming soon!

Fresh Friday: Lost & A List

I've lost my camera charger! Do you know what this means? It means that my camera battery is DEAD and that I can't take pictures of projects to show off to you lovelies!

I'm going to simply replace photos with a list of ideas.

1. Back-to-school labels: Wouldn't it be fun to have cute custom name labels on all of your kiddo's stuff? I'm picturing it on lunch boxes, binders, notebooks, pencil boxes. You could even use heat-transfer vinyl to customize their back pack or gym shorts!

2. Water Bottles. While you're at it, why not create a cute embellishment or label for your re-usable water bottle? I say this as I sit here looking at my re-usable travel tumbler, which looks totally boring.

3. Showcase a favorite quote. Why not take a favorite quote and showcase it on a canvas, like my friend Erika over at {scraptherapy}. She is so creative!

4. Glass Etching. Glass etching is a fantastic way to make gorgeous and inexpensive gifts! You just need vinyl in reverse and etching cream! One of my oldest & dearest friends is getting married later this month and I am going to glass etch the champagne glasses for their toast with "Mr. Covey" and "Mrs. Covey".

5. Organization. Turns out vinyl is just really great for organizing. I suggest either creating individual labels with vinyl or  using a set of our chalkboard vinyl labels.
