Gel medium light molding paste.

I'm pretty sure that's never ever been a blog post title before.
Have you heard about this stuff?  They playing with it at Paper Party today. 
It's basically this amazing paste that you can use to build up texture on things like canvas.

Such cool texture.  Seriously...like frosting.  In fact, I think she put the Paste on with a butter knife.

Not even a little bit.
So don't be like the paste kid in kindergarten who sneaks off into the corner for a little pre-lunch snack.
And just so you know...I was NOT the paste-eater. 

The Paste DOES however smell like when you get your hair highlighted, and they just put you under the dryer.  I will admit to smelling the Paste (for 2 seconds) so I could pass on that important tidbit to you.

Mr. Canvas Man just delivered the hugest, most ginormous pile of canvas ever.

Whenever I get to go in our canvas/home decor section during my shifts here at TOM, I usually walk just a little bit slow (shh..don't tell Elizabeth) past this wall just to take it all in...I love the colors, the artwork, and the true unique-ness of each canvas. It makes my heart happy that we have so many talented TOM girls here sharing their work with us for inspiration!

"Coffee and Canvas"....

This Wednesday, July 15th, 10am-12pm, is our "Coffee and Canvas" workshop...want to come and play?

You can bring ANY canvas project you'd like to work on (and I would love to help you with it!) OR you can create our "featured project!" This month's project features a 12x24 canvas, four 5x5 thin canvas pieces and a vinyl! Regularly priced, this project would be $45...but you can enjoy this project for just $22. It's going to be super fun and we would love for YOU to join us!

Oh, I bet you'd like a peek of the project...hmmm, how about Monday? Let's keep you holding on to the edge of your seats for a couple days. :)

You won't need to bring any supplies (fun, right?). Photos would be awesome, but not necessary (you can add them later). We just want you to come and play with canvas!

This is THE paper...

...that we couldn't wait to get in to the store because it lists BELLINGHAM on the map! Fun, right? We were so excited we squealed! :)

And then Miss Jolene created this super cool canvas featuring the paper with string reaching out to the locations of her siblings across the United States! How cool! To create the chipboard letters, she adhered pattterned paper to chipboard using Pioneer Glue Stick. Then, she die cut them with our "Tag" die cut alphabet...simple and it looks awesome! Thanks for sharing this great idea Jolene!

gifts for dad!

Father's Day is just around the corner...it's this Sunday, June 24th...are you ready to celebrate your dad? We have this super sweet canvas that Miss Sara Matthews made...you just know it's going to bring some tears to her dad for sure!

To create your own, pick up a 12x24 canvas, the vinyl expression, and paint...and then select your photos. You'll first paint your canvas, then allow it to dry overnight. Next, position photos and vinyl as you would like them...once satisfied, apply vinyl and then the photos. (Quickgrip works great for adhering photos on canvas.

Check out the fabulous canvas that Miss Melanie made...it is absolutely beautiful!
 
It's a 12" x 16" canvas, made up of little 4" x 4" sections.  What a great way to use up scraps and little bits of ribbon & doo dads.  I just love doo dads.
 
The bottom right corner is a separate 4" x 4" canvas adhered to the main one....brilliant! :)

Mel did an amazing wedding collage...but don't you think this is a great idea for Father's Day?
Each little 4"x4" section could be a picture or something special about your dad.
Or a teacher gift...or a graduation gift...the possibilities are pretty much endless!
